Removing the virus or spyware is just the first step to a full recovery

When you run Task Manager you will see a list of programs that are running. The real shocker here is that these are not all the programs that are running on the computer. There are also additional programs that run in the background and are considered as invisible applications. Most of these are needed to have the computer run as it should, but this is also a breeding ground that viruses and spyware can also lurk. Many of the harmful programs are like magicians that don’t want you to see what they are doing or how they are doing it.

In many cases, the damage that they have wrought will require an additional program that can fix the damage after the viruses and the spyware has been removed. Some of these programs can even monitor the background processes to see if there are any harmful applications that are running. The reason for this is to eliminate the problem before fixing the damage.

To some, the repair work and the steps that many of these programs may appear more like a form of surgery. This is not far from the truth as they are usually cleaning out obsolete date, fixing corrupt data, undoing the damage from viruses, and even repairing the damage to the indexes and the registry. This is a tall order and is also more like a list of ailments in a dying body. In a sense it is exactly how it is, the disease is the viruses and once they have been removed the repair programs can be used to bandage and fix the computer.

The once concern that a person should have though is that a virus and spyware can do horrendous amounts of damage to a system. It is very likely that there may be some files that will be corrupt beyond repair. Many of these will be driver files, applications, and also system files. This can require the person to recover their operating system, reinstall the operating system, or to replace the files that were damaged. In many cases the programs doing the mending will notify you of what is wrong and what course of action should be taken. In most cases they can even tell you how to take the steps to finalize the repair work. This can be seen as having the advice of a doctor that wants you to have a healthy and happy computer

The one commercial tool that countless people have had to deal with is the legions of spyware applications that are hidden in the virtual world. These are the Easter Eggs that we all pray we never find. They are designed to copy your Internet history, keystrokes, and even your system profile. This information is then given to companies that will then either harass you with offers or will sell this information to other companies. This is the source of much of the virtual junk mail that we have and also has been the source of identity theft as there are more evil sources to these spyware programs and sometimes the data can be intercepted as well.

The one weapon that a person has is anti-spyware programs. There are some that will claim to be anti-spyware and are little more than viruses, until you pay for the full version. Overall, most of the programs that one can find are useful tools in eliminating those little pests that try to pry your personal information of offer it to the highest bidder.

The selling of information has been a growing market and this has prompted even more spyware applications and even more complex designs to their construction. This has also resulted in more aggressive anti-spyware programs that are designed to eliminate this threat and to give the person the peace of mind that they deserve.

One of the newer methods that spyware has evolved is in the intrusion and infection of other programs and files. This is a method that is used to help ensure that the person is unable to remove the spyware and that they program can continue to work in the background hidden from the user’s eyes. Many of the newer programs and some of the more powerful ones can spot these changes and can undo the damage or at least warn you that there has been an intrusion. Being aware means that you can at least take the steps to eliminate this altercation. Some of the anti-spyware programs that are out there can even define what the spyware is and where it originated. This is a good tool to help you avoid this intrusion in the future.

As with any protection program, a good anti-spyware application is only good if it is updated. With this in mind, it is good to run the update each time that you run the scan. This way you have the most recent definitions and lists of spyware that is out there and can ensure that your system will be secure after the scan.
